Why should teachers blog?

Blogging is an easy way to get an online presence for free. You can use you blog in many ways but most educationalists use their blogs to highlight new videos or ideas that they have come across and to provide an platform for discussion.

A blog is basically a diary however with a blog you allow other people to read it and you can allow them to comment on what you have written. As well as written entries (like this one that you are reading) you can also post up videos that you have come across on youtube for example. You could post up an essay for discussion, ask your class to watch a video clip and give their response, get students to post up a sumary of that weeks work (the apllications are endless)

Links to your blog can be placed on the school website and you have total control over the comments mde on your blog. You could make comments to you blog public (not recommended) or either require people to sign up before they can comment or personally aloow posts individually.

So, why should teacher's blog? Well...why not?
